I4MP Committee 2026–2027

A new committee, and a big thank you

A new committee was elected at the I4MP Annual General Meeting on 1 August 2026, marking an exciting new chapter for Independents for Mornington Peninsula.

Before welcoming the new committee, we want to acknowledge the extraordinary work of the committee that came before it.

The past year has been anything but ordinary. The outgoing committee not only established our new incorporated association and put the foundations in place for I4MP’s future, but then found itself managing a completely unexpected by-election in Nepean. The energy, commitment and sheer amount of work that went into both achievements has been extraordinary.

On behalf of all our members, we extend our heartfelt thanks to those retiring from the committee:

  • Phil Riley — President
  • Karli Smith — Vice-President
  • Tracey Swadling — Secretary

We are enormously grateful for everything they have contributed to I4MP and for the strong foundations they leave behind.

Welcoming the 2026–2027 committee

Our new committee brings together three members of the original committee and five new members, giving us a great mix of experience, fresh ideas and new energy.

Importantly, the committee now includes representatives from all of the state electorates across the Mornington Peninsula — reflecting our ambition to build a strong community independent movement right across the Peninsula.

Our 2026–2027 committee is:

  • Debbie de Laps — President
  • Pam Pitt — Vice-President & Treasurer
  • Luke O’Brien — Secretary
  • Alan Hall — Committee Member
  • Jeff Cook — Committee Member
  • Lynnie Oswald-Jacobs — Committee Member
  • Ralph Catts — Committee Member
  • Webster Seeley — Committee Member

There is plenty to do over the year ahead, especially with the November State election in 3 months time, and we are looking forward to building on the momentum of the past year, growing our membership and continuing to support strong community independents across the Mornington Peninsula.

If you’d like to get in touch with the committee, we’d love to hear from you.
