Join Independents for Mornington Peninsula

We’re building a strong, community-backed independent movement on the Mornington Peninsula—bringing people together around transparency, integrity, and meaningful community representation. After a strong first year, we’re excited about the momentum ahead and the opportunity to grow this work further. Becoming a member is one of the most important ways you can support and be part of this journey.

What membership means

As a member, you’re part of a growing community committed to:

  • Supporting independent voices in politics
  • Strengthening democratic participation
  • Promoting integrity, fairness, and accountability

There are two types of membership:

  • Full members play an active role in guiding the direction of the organisation. They are able to participate in general meetings, vote on key decisions, and, where eligible, nominate for and serve on the Committee. Full membership is open to people aged 18 and over who support the purposes of the organisation and agree to comply with our Constitution and Code of Conduct.
  • Associate members are welcome to actively participate in the community but do not have voting rights and are not eligible to serve on the Committee. Associate membership includes younger members. People aged under 15 years can apply only as Associate members. Associate members also agree to comply with our Constitution and Code of Conduct.

As a member, you’ll also have opportunities to:

  • Attend and participate in member meetings and events
  • Contribute to discussions and help shape the direction of the organisation
  • Stay connected with a community of people working toward positive change on the Peninsula

By applying for membership, you’re confirming that you:

  • Support the purpose and direction of Independents for Mornington Peninsula
  • Share our values of Integrity, Collectivism, Authenticity and Honesty, Humility, Empathy and Fairness.
  • Agree to comply with our Constitution and Code of Conduct
